ID:	263888A few KFA-NY members hit the waters of Cape May, NJ for a weekend of kayak fishing at the JCKF Kayak Fishing Jamboree, a kayak fishing tournament sponsored by Jersey Cape Kayak Fishing.

Tim McNamara (TimMac) was the big winner with a first place finish in the striped bass category.

Tom Conway (nosand) was runner up in the Tog category with a nice fat one.

Gene Kenney (elkfish) was a winner (in his own mind) in 2 categories not even named in he event , catching an Octopus and the allusive and rare Black Drum. All joking aside, Gene deserves some major recognition for landing the 20" black drum near some very thick structure! Plus, kayak black drum are a rare catch indeed, especially north of Chesapeake!

James Tsu (onelastcast) ,Jeff Meyer (yessire), and Kayak Carl Schneider (Carl4x4) also caught many quality fish.

The fishing started slow on friday ,but picked up substantially on Saturday when we fished the bridges.

We kept hearing that the fish were there but it was slow pickings otherwise.

A substantial amount of money was raised and I think all the KFA-NY guys went home full from fishing.

Thanks to Chris Parson, Charlie Labar, and the rest of the JCKF crew for the invite once again!
