We are a Long Island NY based kayaking fishing club, but you may find our members all over the country fishing recreationally and/or competing in tournaments. Primarily you will find us fishing in the waters surrounding Long Island, the New York City area, and most nearby shorelines, lakes, and reservoirs. Our mission is to promote the growing and exciting sport of kayak fishing and to be active in the conservation of our waters and the fish we love to catch.

KFA-NY holds 5 indoor meetings between October and March which are open to the general public. At many of the meetings we bring in local experts to speak on a diverse range of topics such as how to get the most from fish finder electronics, fresh water kayak fishing strategies, conservation, and more. Over the fishing season we have several meetings at outdoor locations which provide excellent fishing opportunities for the members that attend.

No matter what your experience level - beginners to advanced paddlers , our club has something to offer. Discussions and activities range from assessment of kayak models and gear, to cold water safety, to marine electronics, to an ever-growing database of techniques and tips for every fish and area in the Greater New York area. Throughout the pages of our online forum, we strive to collect and share our vast knowledge and experience of this sport. We also encourage, and facilitate, members fishing together, not only is kayak fishing safer with a buddy, it's way more fun too!

We are the best resource for kayak fishing - bar none - and sharing that knowledge is a fundamental core aspect of the club!
We hope to see you online and on the water.

Tight lines to all!
