Great North Woods - Pittsburg, NH - Salmon, Rainbow, Brown, and Brook Trout

I made a trip up to the North Country with my wife in New Hampshire and got some fishing in to target salmon and trout. My goal was to catch a 5 species coldwater slam - salmon, lake trout, brown trout, rainbow trout and brook trout. I achieved 4/5, catching 9 salmon, 12 brook trout, 7 rainbow trout, and 3 brown trout . . . . I got skunked on the lake trout, and really regret not trying Second Connecticut Lake for them. That being said, it was a very good trip, and I never spent more than 2 or 3...

KFA-NY member Elias Vaisberg fished the Long Island south shore for a four fish grand slam of weakfish, fluke, scup, and kingfish. This fantastic catch included a 23.5" weakfish and two doormat sized fluke that weighted 7.1 lbs and 6 lbs respectively. In total, Elias had 6 keeper fluke on the day fishing deep water channels. The best bite occurred during incoming tide. Elias has been fishing a pre-summer pattern on the big flatties and carefully noted the depth where the bigger fluke were holding...

Below are some pictures of some exotics that I caught on a recent trip to the west coast of Florida. Since it was a family vacation, I only had four total hours to fish over the middle two days of the trip, but caught three different species during that time and fished in two separate locations. The Naples / Marco area has great access to kayak fishermen. The results were finalized today for Kayak Wars 2011, a national tournament. For the second year in a row, KFA-NY was well represented and has much to brag about. With the opening of the tog season, I fished some rocky real estate between Sands Point and Eaton's Neck on the North Shore in pursuit of tautog. I had been looking forward to this for almost a year. The fishing was excellent, and I totalled approximately 20 tog over two days. Of these fish caught, about 15 were keeper sized. It was the typical mayhem of light tackle tog fishing - my rod went vertical after almost every catch, and the arm wrestling type fight was incredible. About 6 tog broke...
